AI governance • decision rights • capability debt • organizational systems • judgment at scale

Services:

I work with executives and boards on the hard problems organizations avoid until speed removes friction. I'm known for asking uncomfortable questions, insisting on evidence over reassurance, and helping institutions confront the gap between assumed control and provable control — before incidents force the lesson.

Organizations don’t fail because of bad technology.
They fail because judgment doesn’t scale.

AI didn’t create this problem — it exposed it by removing the friction that once hid whether control actually existed.

I work with executives and boards when decisions are distributed, consequences are real, and reassurance is no longer enough.

ABOUT ME

I’m an executive advisor and author focused on capability debt: the gap between what organizations assume they can control and what they can actually prove under pressure.

My work sits at the intersection of technology, governance, and human systems. I help institutions move from policy, training, and good intentions to demonstrable control in real workflows — ownership, decision rights, escalation paths, auditability, and go‑live standards that still hold when speed removes friction.

This is not advisory about “responsible AI” as an aspiration. It is about organizational responsibility as an operational fact.

WHAT I WORK ON
HOW I WORK

I work with leaders on problems that don’t belong to a single function:

  • Capability debt in AI‑enabled organizations

  • Governance that can be proven, not described

  • Decision rights and escalation under time pressure

  • Operating models for high‑consequence systems

  • Board‑level visibility into risk, quality, and control

The goal is not better narratives.
The goal is evidence.

I don’t offer implementation services, training programs, or tool selection.

Some frameworks and materials may be shared standalone. Others are used only in advisory contexts, because artifacts alone do not create capability.

My role is to help leaders confront reality early — before incidents, regulators, or customers force the lesson.

WHY MY BACKGROUND MATTERS

My advisory work is informed by two decades inside complex organizations across engineering, security, product, and enterprise delivery — including roles as CTO, VP of Engineering, architect, and operator.

I’ve seen the same failures repeat at scale.
This work exists to stop pretending they’re new.

BOOKS / WRITING

I’m the author of multiple books on security, governance, and organizational decision‑making, including The Capability Debt.
